The operation, carried out Saturday, lasted 14 hours and the patient was "in a good general state of health" on Monday, the spokesman said. No unexpected problems occurred and the operating team did not expect any ill-effects from the operation. The hospital's management said the patient had decided himself on the transplant after being told of all the alternatives. It did not say where the tongue had come from. |
